Hydraulic fracturing activation dart

The multistage hydraulic fracturing (MSF) activation dart is an innovative solution enabling effective interaction with the target frac sleeve. The dart is pumped down to the frac sleeve simultaneously with pumping the previous stage or immediately prior to conducting multi-stage hydraulic fracturing.

Activation darts do not require additional reaming jobs in the well after hydraulic fracturing. Therefore, there is no need to run coiled tubing systems and a wireline in the hole. This simplifies the process of bringing the well into production while reducing the flow initiation cost.

The activation darts are produced from tailored dissolvable materials that meet downhole conditions and the requirements set by the Customer.

Advantages:

  • An alternative to the ball-activated fracturing system.
  • More hydraulic fracturing stages than with ball-activated systems.
  • An equal-bore liner after the dart is dissolved.
  • There is no need for reaming in wells after hydraulic fracturing.
